I was born John Lopez July, 24th 1978 in Peekskill, NY. Where growing up was a struggle cause my family was poor trying to make ends meet. I was raised in poverty and pain. I know life is a hustle, and that you have to work hard to achieve your goals. When I was younger my father always encouraged me to play instruments since he played the conga, a saxophone, harmonica, and trumpet, this inspired my love for music. In first and second grade I played a trumpet eventually becoming one of the best in the class. I loved being in front of a crowd of people showcasing my talent, but I didn’t love playing the trumpet. Since I could remember I’ve been exposed to hip hop and it was something I could relate to. Eventually, I started to write down lyrics and it grew from there. When I lost my father to cancer at the age of fifteen music became a way to stay conected to him as well as therapy and a way to vent. That’s all music was for a long time, but people always encouraged me to take my music more seriously and said
“I had a lot of talent“. So, in 2000 I began to take my music more serious. Trying to get in local shows in Poughkeepsie, NY and boroughs of New York City. Since then I’ve put out several CD’s and I have done over hundreds of shows and growing, between NY and CT. At this point I currently do at least one show a month, some of which, I set up along with fellow artist York. We use are own hard earned money to produce, advertise, set up venues for all of our local events. There are many ways to be successful, and I believe creativity and originality are two of the most important things you need to become successful. I strive for perfection and work hard everyday constantly on music, but remain humble. Like Biggie smalls said “ you have to treat every project like your first” and I firmly believe that. So I try to stay educated and in tune with my surroundings. Learning something new everyday, and trying to combine it with past knowledge to make better decisions. I have made bad decisions in the past, but I have the will to learn and educate myself. I am determined to get my fifteen minutes and don’t know the word quit
