BlowUpDollz are an all girl band out of Stanford, CA. They are a four piece rock band consisting of Fisty Pyxx (Guitar/Vocals), Taxi Teaze (Bass/Backup Vocals), Razz Taztic (Electric Violin, Vocals), and Heddy Vodd (Drums). Together, they make BlowUpDollz, a highly energetic band out to make each show an experience no crowd could forget.
On top of being a perky and upbeat group of girls, BlowUpDollz are a very determined and hardworking band. Having met through connections with the notorious Stanford Marching band, the girls quickly developed a genuine rapport and commitment to their music. Rock drum beats and Green Day style guitar layered with catchy vocal lines create the foundations of their musical structure. Meanwhile, the addition of an electric violin catapults their style into an uncharted genre, focusing on an upbeat high energy sound.
Within the first six months of being together, BlowUpDollz have gone from playing in a garage, to headlining venues like the Whisky A Go Go on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, and rocking MTV's 2008 VMA pre-party. In addition, their song ‘Tell Me Today’ is now being aired on RockRNR radio and fm102x. In addition, their song 'The Row', is now available as a new downloadable ringtone from AT&T. BlowUpDollz will also soon be a featured chapter in an outcoming book all about female rock bands.
If Nikki Sixx and Joan Jett had a love child who was raised by Garbage, BlowUpDollz would kick it's ass while rocking out in four inch heels. From the moment the Dollz step on stage the crowd immediately becomes an obedient jaw-dropped and screaming mass, never sure what they'll do next.
BlowUpDollz redefine the "girl band" image. Each member brings a unique element to the stage, while their style and charisma mesh perfectly as a whole. Fisty rocks her flying V guitar as she drops to her knees and tosses her head back while tearing into a riff. Razz whips through her distorted violin solos as she leans into the crowds up-reaching arms. Taxi tantalizes in her miniskirt and puckered lips as she rocks her bass. Meanwhile Heddy flies through her drum fills so fast her sticks become merely a blur. The BlowUpDollz’ energetic sound and melodies provide unforgettable entertainment as audiences leave the venue with both songs and wild antics burned into their memories. As a result in the short time they've been together they've developed a loyal fan base called Bombz. It's common to see the Dollz heading out with the Bombz after performing to thank them for coming.
After watching their heads bang, bodies jump, and hair fly, these girls are addictive! The Dollz command attention on and off the stage by exuding pure energy and a never-ending sense of fun. Their presence is unmistakable and irreplaceable. You never know what BlowUpDollz will do next, all you know is that it won't be like anything you've seen before.

The BlowUpDollz Score #1 Hit With "The Row" on Nat by PRWire The all-girl BlowUpDollz out of Stanford, CA are a highly energetic, four piece rock band that will appear at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco on November 15, as part of the Campus MusicFest Showcase after scoring #1 on the Campus MusicFest charts.
(PRWEB) November 13, 2008 -- The BlowUpDollz out of Stanford, CA are a four piece rock band consisting of Fisty Pyxx (Guitar/Vocals), Taxi Teaze (Bass/Backup Vocals), Razz Taztic (Electric Violin, Vocals), and Heddy Vodd (Drums). The highly energetic, all-girl band was selected to appear at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco on November 15, as part of the First Annual Campus MusicFest Showcase - a spinoff of the long running and very popular Campus MovieFest.
Fisty Pyxx says, "We are very excited that 'The Row' is currently ranked No. 1 on the Campus MusicFest charts. (www.campusmusicfest.com). We submitted 'The Row' to this particular competition because Campus MusicFest is a nationwide college competition and this particular song is our tribute to college life.
Pyxx adds, "Based on the overwhelming response to 'The Row' on Campus MusicFest charts, we can say it's definitely been well received. We have many other songs that we love, however, and we're excited to be performing those as well this Saturday at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, as we go up to compete against three other top-ranked Bay Area campus bands. We plan to hit the stage with a lot of energy and passion, with the goal of proving the BlowUpDollz deserve their current #1 spot on the charts.
According to the band's website (http://www.sonicbids.com/blowupdollz.com), band members have definitely "an image you haven't seen in a while. We're bringing it back - old school chick rock with a fresh twist in energy and attitude." Put another way: "If Nikki Sixx and Joan Jett had a love child who was raised by Garbage, BlowUpDollz would kick it's ass, in high heels, while chugging a beer.
Within the first six months of being together, the BlowUpDollz went from playing in a garage to headlining the Whiskey A Go Go on Sunset Strip, rocking MTV's 2008 VMA pre-party as well as writing, recording, and producing a full 15 song album.
Pyxx says, "Our experience at Whiskey A Go Go was unreal. We were a young band stepping onto an old, world-famous stage - a stage that all my rock idols like Motley Crue and Van Halen had set foot upon while making music history, and that they all attributed as the place where they found their start. Here we were, a band that had yet to even reach its one year anniversary, ready to make our start. It was an extremely motivating experience to see 'BlowUpDollz' emblazoned across the headlining spot down on the legendary Sunset Strip.
Regardless of being a young girl band, we're ready to stand up against the big boys of the music industry. We are an extremely determined group of girls and we are continuously being faced with fresh challenges that will take us to the next step towards success and we charge each challenge with an attitude that simply states, "We're ready for it... bring it on!" We've accomplished things already that bands have taken years to achieve like playing world famous venues and walking Hollywood red carpets. In addition our song, 'Tell Me Today", will soon be aired on RockRnR radio, while our song, 'The Row', will be a new AT&T ringtone download, and BlowUpDollz will even be a featured chapter in a new book all about chick rock bands. The truth is that we have gone into this experience with the mindset that we are not just going to be a college campus band that breaks up after we all graduate, but that we are going to do it, make it, and take the music world by storm.
The Campus MusicFest is being held in association with The Campus MovieFest, the world's largest student film festival. The Campus MusicFest Showcase features top student bands in the area, special bonus awards for participants in the world's largest student film festival, huge door prizes for attendees, a Guitar Hero® III Mobile Showdown, and a chance to have fun in one of the country's greatest music venues.
