Born in 1974, Wiremu is a Guitarist and Singer/Songwriter from New Zealand.
Taught himself to play guitar at the age of 11, and began singing later in his adult
years as a fulltime musician.
He has also taught band workshops at polytech and primary school level.
He produces music ideas and arrangments using a basic home recording
set up based around Logic Pro.
Although his main musical focus and love is reggae, he often dabbles and has
a great appreciation for 'the blues' and its derivatives such as soul and funk music.
He considers reggae his roots music lyrically, and the blues his roots music
guitar wise, afterall the blues was the reason he took up the instrument
in the first place.
He currently fronts and writes material for "VINTAGE", an original Wellington based
reggae band since 2010.
His main influences are:
Bob Marley
Third World
Jimi Hendrix
Stevie Ray Vaughn
Santana
