Monique Leilani, native of St. Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands grew up with an extensive background of music and sports.
Leilani started piano lessons at the age of 7 until the age of 11. It was at a Denise Graves Concert that an interest and drive in music performance (vocal) was developed. Shortly after, her music studies concentrated on growing and developing her voice. Mean while she was raised listening to Gospel for spiritual uplifting and old school R&B for leisure.
As life progressed Leilani went on to be a member of several church choirs, musical groups, chorals, as well as many solo performances. Her musical career has focused mainly on classical and inspirational genres and now at 23 she wants to bring a new fresh voice to the Soul and Neo-Soul atmosphere. Presently working on music that consists of a lot of chromatic and melodic harmonies, engaging movement and often tropical rhythms, Leilani is determined to share her emotions, her views, and her passion for music with the world.
"I hope to contribute in bring music wasn't just something to listen to but a way of life. I hope to help bring back the good old days when you listened to a song and you were moved to laugh or cry, when a song helped you cope with a break up or express to someone just how much you loved them"
Quote: "Music is the medium to which my soul is set free, the oxygen to which my life can breathe"
