Nikki Britt, Not Bein' in Love by Country Weekly 12.29.08
Fifteen-year-old phenom, Nikki Britt, released her debut album with Rustic Records, Inc. this past September. Ready to Ride’s 12 tracks offer a great insight into Nikki as an artist. From cowboy-hunting party girl to estranged daughter meeting her father for the first time, these songs give Nikki a great showcase to demonstrate both her vocal range and her ability to emotionally connect with her audience. Having opened for James Otto, and fresh off a rousing performance at The Rutledge in Nashville, Nikki is so excited about kick-starting her life in country music.

Nikki may be a newcomer on the Nashville music scene, but she’s a veteran singer and dancer, with dozens of community productions, charity appearances, and Broadway auditions under her belt. She has a great voice, but she also has emotion and inflection to go along with it. She had an uncanny way of making the realism of a song come out even though she’s so young and hasn’t had [a lot of] life experience yet.

Over the past several years, Nikki has been inspired by LeAnn Rimes, Martina McBride and more recently Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift. ‘These country artists motivate me.’ Nikki says. ‘They keep me improving and expanding and they make me work harder. I want people to recognize my voice as being unique. I can’t wait for the day when a fan hears one of my new songs and says ‘that sounds like Nikki Britt!’”

“Before she was even in kindergarten, Britt knew music was going to be her true calling. 'I really like the sound of country. It was one of the music genres that most hit me,' Britt says. ‘I like how country songs tell a story. '"
'If you’re going to be a singer and sing for everyone in the world, then you should at least help someone out,’ Nikki says. ‘I definitely want to start a lot of charities and help out with the homeless and kids with disabilities or cancer.’”
