The original members of the group formed The Sons of Harmony in the summer of 1999 while in drug and alcohol rehabilitation in Baltimore, Md.

They became known for their a cappella style singing among their peers. They have also performed with the likes of The Gospel Keynotes, The Fantastic Violinaires and Lil David & The Bells of Joy.
