Inspired by artists like Kriss Kross, Run DMC, KRS ONE, and Public Enemy, he began writing lyrics with his older brother and recording mix tapes on an old cassette recorder. In high school, Josh Sanchez became known as Trigga, Trig for short, forming his own group, Severe Threat, and battling other students before school. As he got older, music became more than just a passion, as Trig produced Severe Threat’s first CD and even took on local artists to mix and engineer their projects
While a lot of artists had the opportunity to put their time and effort into music full-time, Trig took no handouts and worked toward his dream of becoming an artist and overcoming a hard life. As those around him chose the wrong path, he remained focused on his dream, bu
in (year) the music fell silent, when Trig lost the two most influential people in his life- his mother and grandmother
After two years away from the mic, Trig refocused to honor their memory as he came back stronger than ever- stepping back into the studio to record Now or Never
With a unique tone and versatility that sets Trig apart, and it’s obvious that he puts his heart and soul into everything he writes
“I deliver true stories that I or any of my peers have experienced. A line I wrote once was, ‘cant do that, gotta stick to the root, where the fruit of the trade was to kick it in the booth, spit it how you spit it and always stick to the truth.’
Trig’s lyrics are universal and raw- honest accounts of his upbringing that will inspire listeners to feel the music supporting them through their tough times. Sound engineer Steve Catizone praises Trig’s unique delivery and his songwriting ability. Undeniably, Trig is the complete package whose greatest successes are soon to come.
