Lyrics

The Day My Woman Died By Peter Kern I shall never forget the day that my woman died. A silver sun burned through the sky It was the hottest Sunday I could remember. I felt like the only living thing, left in this world. She was murdered in our home, all alone was I. As the only one who was there, I'd need an alibi. And I had just begun to think my story when - those detectives came to see me and I cried. I made them wait, as I tried to compose my emotions When I walked in the room, they just smiled Where had I been, what was I doing, when my sweet little woman lost her life? I knew right then, it was me they were gonna fry They twisted my story; they told me that I told them lies, But my woman know the truth, oh why did she have to die I'll clear my name, and I'll prove my story Or maybe my days all end inside this here reformatory A silver sun burned through the sky on the day my woman died
