Description

Sleepless is a written account of how drummer, Peter Carparelli, felt when he and bassist, Steve Ryan, lost one of their closest childhood friends. Peter had been dealing with nightmares and constant reminders of how his friend just left his life. One evening, Steve gave Peter a chord progression, after having a conversation about their late friend, and that sparked the idea to write a message within a song.

Lyrics

We know it was the worst cause it feels like the first time that we, had to say goodbye. Now I'm sleepless again, tossing/turning in my bed, wondering why did you go. I hold on to my covers, never let them go. The nightmare's closing in. The pictures still remind me of where we've gone and been, waking me each night. And we knew it was the worst cause it feels like the first time that we, had to say goodbye. Now I'm sleepless again, tossing/turning in my bed, wondering why did you go. Please don't ever think your time was wasted, trying to change our lives. Now it's been said, and a memory's been left in my head, wondering where did you, where did you go. The mystery's all been solved now, guesses have been made, we're all left here standing. Hoping you'll return, come back to me, come back to us. And we knew it was the worst, but it feels like the first time that we, we can feel at ease. We'll sleep now and then, still missing you my friend, knowing now you're at peace. Please don't ever think your time was wasted, trying to change our lives. Now it's been said, and a memory's been left in my head, wondering where did you, where did you go. Please don't ever think your time was wasted, trying to change our lives. Now it's been said, and a memory's been left in my head, wondering where did you, where did you go.
