Three-Fifths Compromise

Description

Many many years ago, blacks were owned by whites. Blacks only counted as 3/5 of a whole person. Unfair. In present day, we are ALL EQUALS now. Black people have the opportunity to achieve so many great things & so many are just complacent with their current lifestyle & refuse to work towards a better life. I, however, refuse to be a stereotype & will work my hardest to achieve all of my dreams & aspirations. Don't be lazy people!

Lyrics

[Intro] Got this momentum cuz of dreams of the fast life Terrified by the dreams of my past life Living every day like it really is my last life You put me in a box just so I could get the last slice [Verse 1] If the mission was to kill it, I assassinate it I get it done while everybody is procrastinating Because you must work twice as hard to achieve half of what they got Refuse to let somebody overshadow me and steal my spot People saying "Damn Isaiah! I ain't know that you was hot." Working double shifts to cement my way up to the top I told you that I love it when people are steady tryna doubt me Damn! They don't even know the smallest attribute about me Back then I was labelled three-fifths of a man Three-Fifths Compromise in case you didn't understand Comprehending all the struggles that my parents knew just tryna raise me They believe in me. I know there's more to life than being lazy All the tough love speeches. I just thought my mom was crazy Now I ain't stopping cuz my family wanna celebrate me Could have been an athlete if I ran enough Just like you could have been a great if you were man enough [Hook] Yo! Three-Fifths, I'm talking a Compromise In this world the best you could do is just prioritize While they planning your downfall, be smart & go learn how to fly What's the point of living if you're never gonna feel alive? X2 [Verse 2] So shoutout to the people who ain't scared of standing up Don't give a fuck about who is misunderstanding us You doing nothing but complaining how nothing in life is changing Don't be mad when you see me doing foreign exchanging Should have used the brain you had to achieve a real ounce of greatness Yeah it takes a while; but the greatest things come from patience Notice how I'm rapping like I got my whole life together I be conflicted in my thoughts when I am under pressure Size 11 foot; try & step inside my shoes They be tryna gain acclaim, but have yet to pay they dues On that same old shit, with my same old clique Y'all trash talking me. Y'all niggas on my same old dick The ones that say they ride for ya; turns out they lied to ya If ya tryna cause a problem, it's a solemn bye to ya! Met so many fucking snakes, I wish I would have caught them slithering Confront 'em on they shit, that's when they start to get belligerent [Hook] [Verse 3] Niggas ain't shit! Only worth three-fifths They repping a bunch of lies, so they have to plead the fifth Head is clearer than that bottled spring water from Poland It took a man to go through the dark times; Kelly Rowland Like a genie in a bottle, grant my wishes on my own Alpha to the strongest pack, that's what it takes to claim the throne From ignoring my presence to throwing dirt up on my name People laughed they asses off when I said I would rise to fame I got a plethora of rhymes & I gotta keep the flowing tight Remember the oppressor only gave us three-fifth of rights I gotta do my best just to be looked at as a whole You could laugh it off, but either way this rapping is my goal And a wise woman told me "All that glitters ain't gold." It took a while to understand it; shit that statement is bold Switch it up on everybody like a fucking chameleon Told myself that I ain't stopping 'til I'm worth bout a billion Lyrical expertise, while y'all stay hooked on phonics Unpredictable. I leave 'em shocked, like electronics And I'm different from the rest; you see it in my mannerisms People only used to niggas acting out like Tyrone Biggums And the stereotypes, I see y'all feeding right into it Had a bunch of opportunities; too bad you fucking blew it Was a boy, now I'm a man. And I'm tryna understand Just how much triumph & wealth will happen in my life span [Hook]
