Get Dead has a funky blues feel, however in the last part of the blues chorus we use a V-bVI-I change instead of the typical V-IV-I progression. The lyrics are relatively simple, forcing our singer to rely more on her vocal talent and improvisational abilities. Lyrically speaking the song focuses on the story of a girl being turned down by a guy at a party, who uses an odd expression to blow her off.
