Written in Aug 06 during the Army Engineer Officer's Basic Course. I and 4 other young officers had just floated the Little Piney River - 5 young men months away from deployment, lost in the magic of friendship, inner tubes, a cooler of beer, and a little piece of paradise that came and rested on us that day - it truly was as good as it gets.
