Sierra Soul

Duration

3:34

Genres

Singer/Songwriter (Female)

Description

I began writing this song during a hike to Yosemite Falls in the Spring of 2000 and finally completed and recorded it in 2010. Much of the hike was in wooded areas, but no matter where you are on the mountain, you can always hear the flowing water of the Sierra River as a constant comfort that you are on the right path.

Lyrics

Walking by gardens in the country Switchbacks on a highway of regret I hear the soft sweet ramble from deep within the tide I’m on my way to find you, flow freely by my side. Where are we going, sweet Sierra? What have you done with my heart? Oh, even if I die before I’m old I’ll always feel the comfort of your soul. You speak to me in riddles I have yet to understand I follow your direction for you know the master plan Cool me with your waters, save me from my thirst. You love flows from mountains, but I know you were first. Where are we going, sweet Sierra? What have you done with my heart? Oh, even if God takes me before I’m old I’ll always feel the comfort of your soul. I close my eyes and make the climb Trusting in my steps Your whisperings lead me to the top What will I find there, will it be the kingdom come? Or will it be the path that leads me home? Where are we going, sweet Sierra? What have you done with my heart? Oh, even if God takes me before I’m old I’ll always feel the comfort of your soul. I’ll always feel the comfort of your soul. Sing, my Sierra soul.
