The American Farm

Duration

3:38

Description

I wrote this song with Dewey Howard as an anthem to the American Farmer, but especially the small, family farmer. We feel they are real heroes in our country, and deserve a song recognizing their incredible contributions to our country and lives.

Lyrics

The American Farm Vs 1 Up and ready to go when the sun comes out. He's got acres of good dirt to plant and plow He remembers to stop and pray, for the Good Lord to bless his day What he does for us all is incredible, but to him he's just doin' what’s natural While we work for our daily bread, he's the one makin' sure we're fed… Chorus God bless the farmer with sunshine and rain So he can keep on growin’ all those amber waves of grain Give him a shelter, protect him from the storm This is our song for the American farm Vs 2 You won't hear him complain like so many do 'bout the troubles that he may be goin' through He provides for his family, ‘n gives a little to charity When a neighbor is down he’s a friend indeed, always ready to help, rollin’ up his sleeves There’s a reason he can't say no, ‘cause the Good Book it tells him so… Repeat Chorus Bridge Even when hope seems gone, he’s holdin’ on, to the land that he loves Repeat Chorus Tag By: Russ Pruitt & Dewey Howard; © 2011; all rights reserved/Pruitt/Howard; 740-464-7940; 740-352-5192; goodfootp@roadrunner.com
