"If I Were A Girl" was at first just a joke I'd thought up when hearing Beyonce's "If I Were A Boy" and thought of how interesting a rebuttal exaggerating the faults of a few women would be. So one day, when I was just online and getting bored, I thought of that idea and searched for the lyrics to "If I Were A Boy". I rewrote them then read the words to a few tough critics and they had praise for it, so what started off as a joke became my first song to record in a pro studio.
