When the Lord spoke to Abram and said "Fear not, I am your shield and you exceedingly great Reward", Abram had no clue what God was really saying. The most important thing to Abram was having an heir to inherit his belongings. But after walking with the Lord for a time the Lord became more valuable to him than even his only son.
