Description

I wrote this song after creating the instrumental. As I listened to the beat, I couldn't help envisioning a John Wayne film, or a cowboys and Indians fight along the frontier. I attempted to capture this imagery through storytelling, as our protagonist arrives in a new town only to find another authoritative figure in place. After overthrowing this character and his cronies, the protagonist finds himself being challenged by a new visitor, who he defeats in a card game.

Lyrics

Gather round children As I tell a story after dinner About James Patrick A tobacco Copen-haggen spitter known from Oregon To past the apple-ah-chins lived your typical protagonist town to town Nomadic drifter Had a reputation Being A combatant known With the Indians The Sioux to the Arapahos Slippin through the traps Of those Whoever Try to grab a hold In the 1800s When The Country had a rapid growth Had a status known He’s treacherous and gritty Quickest with his pistol From the West of Mississippi Just for your advice It would be reckless to in-ishy Ate an argument Your whereabouts remain a misstry heard about a hold-up In a town in South Dakota Thought he would go over Cuz he traveled where the gold was heard a loud commotion As he opened the two Swinging couple doors Up in the local saloon Stoic and emotionless He’s probing the room Noticing a felon And his chauvinist crew And so James began approaching Towards the joke and a phony dude is in the corner Getting stoned with his cronies A petty larcenist From down in lower Wyoming when Mr. Patrick saw the mouth’s Of both his Doberman’s foaming And So he Grabbed the pooches Threw the two across the room when He then had grabbed the fugitive And choked him with a shoe strinn Then the criminal Was scared and pooped his blue gins The mood in the saloon was so confused and disillusioned Listen Doofus Mr. Patrick said triumphantly If you fuck with me I’ll cause your ass some suff-er-ing People saw That As a leader James was competent People that were jocking him Would shower him with compliments Those who walked up in The bar were so in awe of him While Other people thought that his His façade became un-wahrrented As the clock would tick And going by to Pass the time Mr. Patrick would relax and have a glass of cactus wine If you pissed him off He’d leave you with a blackened eye Til’ another man arrived Who sat up in his saddle high Patrick greeted him He Asked him what was up wearing Prussian blue dude was upper crust Had a misses In a carriage with a Supple bust Patrick Hit his Stomach an upper cut and sucker punch Flabbergasted This had hurt his assertiveness Then he wondered who would give This Vermin the juristic- Tion to punch a person He was certain he’d burn fur it the man had had a gun Just for emergency purposes James was staring down The barrel of a smeth and wessy unexpected He was shook like he had epilepsy He responded that This problem should be settled over Just a game of Texas hold’em Please put down your weapon soldier Put his pistol down then took off his leather coat you’re quite convincing Mr. Patrick Cards are such a tempting oafer There’s a strategy That Patrick had been scheming up To Have a flush Then All he needs is just a queen of clubs Saw his misses She was sitting rubbed her cheeks with blush Staring at her cleavage yo he’d really love to feel her up Patrick won a hand He’s raising the stakes The dude was getting nervous yo He’s shaking his legs Saw this man was thinking up Some ways to delay His inescapable loss He’s holding aces and eights And so James defeated him Lookin at the man You aint changing cards Its how you play the hand
