Album: If We Weren't a Couple, I'd Be Your Lover

Description

This song came about as a result of an extremely significant connection I made with someone, and the reality of the situation which was that we both had to keep moving forward with our lives and were headed in different directions. Trees have always seemed comforting to me and nature in general is a pretty comforting topic, which is why I decided to write about trees as these idealistic, soft images. All in all I think the song captures the beauty and sadness in life and living it.

Lyrics

It's bittersweet, but I can say We will meet again. The trees they bow patiently To put the leaves to bed... We could be like trees We could be like trees We could be like trees And you are perfect In front of me, and I am humbled. And sadness comes in waves and swallows Me up and spits me out We could be like waves Come and go like the tide We're not like caves, cause we're not empty inside It's a bitter taste, but it tastes like I'm alive We could be like waves, but we've got too much pride... Slowly - the trees lose their leaves Slowly - they bow to the breeze We could be like trees We could be like trees We could be like trees It's bittersweet, but I can't say We will meet again We will meet again Will we meet again?
