Description

This is a song I wrote about the beautiful city in which I grew up, the incredible city of Oakland, the city across the bay from San Francisco, California. As I am a singer songwriter who is just starting out, it features only guitar and vocals; I hope to be able to rerecord it with a full band as I feel that this song deserves the full radio-ready sound. I hope you like it!

Lyrics

There's a cloudless sky on a clear spring day. Turn the radio up. Up, up, and away. Time to kick back, relax. One man wolf pack. The back beat is guiding the way. This is high time, right time. Left foot taps time. Boom of the bass. Feel the beat. A slow climb. A four-four clock. Now what's in stock? I'm on fire, I'm feeling alive. And I'm speechless. Ah yes No need for words just birds around When I'm speechless Ah yes Living in the Town Wanna jump and scream, yell hallelu But the calmness inside of me sets the mood Feel the air, grab a chair, it's a grizzly's lair This is 5-1-0, this is the view. As the sun goes down, my eyes explode As the bright orange glare makes The City glow. See the bridge from the ridge with the Redwoods below It's the skyline, it's my line, it's home. And I'm speechless Ah yes No need for words just birds around When I'm speechless Ah yes Living in the town It's a picture perfect photograph no camera can portray I'll just have to take the trek outside, new pavement's on the way. It's a simple beauty through the cracks in Oak trees. I'm on top of the world, let me sway in the breeze As i stop through the piles of the dead, dying leaves. This is Oaktown. My Town. So Proud. And I'm speechless Ah yes No need for words just birds around When I'm speechless Ah yes Living in the town
