I have spent my entire life in the minority, beyond being African-American. I don't sound like where I am from, I am not from the streets, and I grew up more Nerd than Jock. The Same situation for me in Music. My music background is varied - more Motown than Mayback, More The Roots than The Hood. In a hypothetical session with a psychiatrist, these are the things both inside and outside music, that I am describing.
