This is a powerful ballad about a girl I picked up hitch hiking. It is a true story about a broken girl and her life changing encounter with the living Christ.
Lyrics
Sue's song Words and music by Mark Wheeler Driving back from Oregon, California was my home. I picked up a burden stranger standing by the side of the road. Nap sack on her back loneliness in her eyes she said," I am going back to LA my parents will be surprised." I said," have you ever heard about a man who lived long ago, he chose 12 poor broken men and he said he's going to change the world." The waves of time had left their mark upon her tear stained shores; with a hunger in her voice. She cried, " won't you tell me more" so I told her ,Jesus loved her and he came to set her free and that he could live in her just like he did in Galilee. She said, " I have been into drugs, I have been into booze, I have tried most everything, been liven loose escaped the noose; never heard about this Galilean ." I said, " if you got a day or two. Won't you come to a one night stand ;the groups all sing about Jesus and how he is changing our land." She said," what is a day or two after all. I have been through " So she came and she listen, she found a life brand-new. We took her down to the river and laid her in her grave raised her up to new life she cried out, " Jesus saves!" She sang and she danced and she'd leaped for joy. " I have never felt such peace before . I sure hope my Jesus keeps filling me more and more ." One poor lost and lonely girl had her life rearrange ;one more life found Jesus; one more life's been changed.
