A haunting piano for an intro leads into a reflective verse. The bridge builds with the inclusion of the drums and some strings. The line'Oh I wish we were friends' grabs you and prepares you for the big chorus that laments the cynicsm of modern living. The song continues with interesting the inclusion of a funked up bass line and rythmic drums. The middle eight is all rocked out guitars and a deep string arrangement. It finishes with a kitchen sink chorus and a break down outro.
