Everyone that speaks to me about this song describes it as being about redemption. As the song was spilling out of me, there were many emotions running through the lyrics. In the end, what resonated most with me was the overriding sense of hope, even in the darkest hours of despair. The salvation that is love when two people let go of their selfishness and become selfless as they become one soul.
