Lyrics

I know I’ve made my share of mistakes. I’ve taken more than I had to take. I was so ignorant, a fool in Your eyes. I had everything and more than I needed to survive. I thought I’d sung my final verse; my anger got the best of me and my life took a turn for the worst. I spent all my years in denial and you kept an eye on me for all this time. Whispering so close to me, yet it felt so far away from me. I fell in with the wrong crowd. I partied and did things of which I’m not proud. The music was so loud. You heard me scream and shout and then you came to me and pulled me right out. You let me know that You were always there. You were in the beginning, when I started sinning and you held me and kept me right under your wing. You let me grow closer and taught me to sing. Sometime later, I sat down and thought what life would be like if I were here or not. You whispered in my ear that I do make a difference. Then you showed me a single inference of a time that was your own. You said, “Child, now don’t fear, there was a time when I once walked here in the form of a man that you know well. My son Jesus was sent, did you hear? To save you from your ending in Hell". I said, “You loved that little boy from the day He was born until the day He died” That’s when I sat there and cried. God said “I love you all, that much you can trust. From the day you were born and when your bones turn to dust. Even after that, I’ll still be here for you” I knew that my time was almost done. So I said, “Can I come with You and Your Son?” You looked at me, your smile made me beguiled and I heard Jesus in the cadence saying, “Come home, My Child”.
