Description
the song standing back is about when i was younger and discovered a musical talent unheard by others and to nervous to show.. the song releases my emotions and years of heartache and dissapointment in myself for standing back for all those years and not giving it ago just because i had stage fright. when i wrote this song i was already well on my way and over stage fright and starting a serious career in country music on that long road to fame and one day Nashville, TN.
Lyrics
I used to stand back and hope that someday I’d go far I still hope to god that someday I will I’ve always had a dream or two of seeing my name in lights But I doubted myself and those dreams CHORUS Standing back I’d hope to god that one day I’d be recognized Someday somehow and Singing at, nine years old and never once told anyone that I Could sing at all i was always standing back I used to fight with my mind, it was telling me to never try Don’t aim to high, it’s further to fall Standing back I’d hide away & never feel the light of day But still I dreamt I’d see my name in lights Repeat Chorus Bridge I’m here and I’m standing tall, Not Standing Back So Catch Me if I fall….. Yeah standing back I’d hope to god that one day I’d be reconised someday, somehow and Singing at, nine years old and never once told anyone that I Could sing at all always standing back, always standing back, i was always standing back.
