Icaria suffers feelings of loneliness and inadequacy when she becomes pregnant. Plagued by these feelings accompanied by peer pressure, society and the breakdown in family communication, Icaria punishes herself by self-inducing an abortion, burying her talent and forgoing any opportunity to pursue her dreams.
