TDWPYW is about mainly getting a message across to somebody you care about who seems to be following a crowd of people who are taking advantage of them. I see a lot of 'followers' these days and it breaks my heart when people can't take control of their own life. So this song is meant to be about taking a step forward and proving people wrong.
