This Year

This was the last song I wrote for what became the Pearl Diving CD. It inspired and triggered a gush of lyrics, most of which made it on the final recording, one morning while I was listening to Carole King's Tapestry and James Taylor's Greatest Hits. It works just great with only acoustic guitar and voice. It's also my favorite last song of the year to listen to just before the ball drops and the year is rung in. Listen closely to the lyrics, and you'll see why.
