Using a poem (I call it prosery) that my fiancé wrote for me, I took some of the words, added my own, and wrote him a song to surprise him. We had this song performed at our wedding the next summer

Verse 1 In this world I felt so lost and alone, With my heart forever drifting in the wind. So afraid I’d never find my home, No safe harbor waiting for me in the end. Then you spoke unto me with words of love and care And you gave me your promise to go with me anywhere. Chorus Hold me in a safe place in your heart. I know we’ll never be apart, For you will always be my shelter from the storm. Hold me in a safe place in your heart. That’s where the healing starts. I take refuge in safe place of your heart. Verse 2 We are told despite unending strife That love’s a gift from God that never fails. So I pledge to you my love and my life For love can’t be kept hidden behind a veil.
