Description
A song for my Grandma really. And that down home hospitality, where you have a plate of food in front of ya, before the hair on your head has had the chance to settle. The idea originally came from my father's (Rich Everman) song Country Folk and I tried to represent that in my off the cuff guitar solo. And for some reason Misterioso by Monk came into my head, so there is that too. The whole song probably needs redone. Ce la vi.
Lyrics
Well, look who it is Come on in What a surprise to see you today How have you been And how are the kids And how long can you stay? Have you eaten? My, you are getting much too thin Let me make you a plate I've got some garden fresh strawberries Some sweet sun tea It's no trouble I'd just throw them away Life's simple design And multiply And time just passes us by Who needs religion When you got the sky And we're living unto the day we die Make yourself at home And take off that coat, go on And stay awhile You can put it in the back there Somewhere Just throw it on the pile Well, how long has it been? Have you talked to Tim? My, you're getting so big child Just having you here today Brings me a smile Life's simple design And multiply And I hope you're doing alright And keeping good company By your side And you're living while You're alive.
