Description
I wrote this song after having a terrible day. I managed to lose my job, my car, and $300 within 24 hours. The song was written in a total of 3 minutes when I came home that day.
Lyrics
100ft from HeavenĀ© by:Eric Miller [Eric Miller Songwriting] The road to home is so much longer on my feet. I hope I make it home tonight, And the pouring rain is trying hard to knock me down. While the moon is all that lights the sky. So I walk until I reach this lonely bridge outside of town. And I stare down 100 feet. The midnight waves are slowly crashing down. Maybe the waves can rescue me. I'm 100 feet from Heaven. I can't stop looking down. Lightning lights the sky and fades away without a sound. So I sit down on the edge, ready to let go. I'm 100 feet from Heaven just a mile away from home. My 10 second fall felt more like a lifetime. I went though memories I hadn't seen in years. I tried to scream, as if someone could save me. But the rain was hiding any trace of tears. And the pain that I felt, was strangely comforting, Because I knew that I must be still alive. As I swam to the top of my suspected grave, For what felt like a mile. I'm 100 feet from Heaven. I can't stop looking down. Lightning lights the sky and fades away without a sound. So I sit down on the edge, ready to let go. I'm 100 feet from Heaven just a mile away from home. Copyright 2010 Eric Ray Miller [Eric Miller Songwriting]
