Description
This song is probably the most emotional song I've ever written, & it's not even about me. As some may know, I go to Ukraine in the summers to minister to orphans. Over the years, a boy named Sergey has really stood out to me for many reasons. This song is the story of his life, in the form of a letter from him addressed to his mother who died when he was young.
Lyrics
Dear Mama I'm writing to you, wherever you are Down in the earth or way up in the sky or just in my heart You never loved me, neither did anyone else But I'm just a young boy still in need of your help & it feels like a lifetime I've been waiting here For you to come back for me but it's pretty clear that you're gone Dear Mama it's been 3 years since I found you laying there Cold to the touch 'cause you drank so much & I was so scared No one would help me, not grandma not grandpa, no way So I dug a deep hole & said goodbye to you that day & it feels like forever I've been waiting here For you to come back for me but it's pretty clear that you're gone I'll remember you I'll remember you I'll remember you
