Description
When I told my bandmates I was writing a song about the origins of the human species they suggested I might want to cut back on the craft beers. But, as it turns out, the song is on our album and has even inspired a video made by a fan. :)
Lyrics
MITOCHONDRIA There was one chipped stone and one slight woman it was way back when there was no religion There was one chipped stone and one slight woman we are all from them and no religion You could say she was her sister You could say she was her mother You could say she was her daughter She was mitochondrial She was mitochondrial She was mitochondrial She was mitochondrial I don't know who my real father was a chromosome inside a kodachrome I don't know who my real father was a chromosome inside a kodachrome You could say she was his brother You could say she was his father You could say she was his son She was mitochondrial She was mitochondrial She was mitochondrial She was mitochondrial Though they may have lived a thousand years apart She must have loved him anyway Though they may have lived a thousand years apart She must have loved him anyway You could say she was his partner You could say she was his nurturer You could say she was his lover She was mitochondrial She was mitochondrial She was mitochondrial She was mitochondrial ©2011 joho music publishing
