Description

Just another train song??? Being raised in a small railroad town called Pacific Missouri, I wanted to express some of the risks we took as kids, the complacency of being stuck in a small town, and the life of a friend that was taken by the mighty railroad.

Lyrics

Another Train Song We were raised in a rail town just west of St. Lou. We went walking thru a tunnel one night and a train came through Ran as fast as we could felt like we were gone Then we jumped to the side it wasn’t on Horn blast and the breaks don’t make for a pretty tune. Chorus: Just hear it call, that train a callin’ People have been known to walk these tracks at night Hear the whistle blow, that whistle blowin’ They say at the end of the tunnel is a very big bright light Well we never doubted the American dream It was just another one of those things we’d never seen I wished we could take that old clickety-clack Ride the rail and never look back Gonna be the man I was always gonna be. Chorus: Just hear it call, that train a callin’ People have been known to walk these tracks at night Hear the whistle blow, that whistle blowin’ They say at the end of the tunnel is a very big bright light… Allrite. Solo, I guess he figured his life wasn’t worth the years Those dreams of youth grow old and disappear If I was a poet I’d describe that night He stepped out of the bar and onto the railroad ties… Chorus, They say at the end of the tunnel is a very big bright light… Repeat x2
