Description

Follow Your Heart is a true life story of Mango Man Founder and Leader, John Creidler. John always dreamed big and so did his mom who bought him his first guitar at age 7 and got him some lessons. John waited many years until The Mango Men finally got a big break and won Kenny Chesney's "Next Big Star" competition in 2008 and opened for Chesney in Philadelphia and in Holmdel, NJ. Follow Your Heart is all about getting to that big break. Thanks Mom. John

Lyrics

Follow Your Heart copyright 2009, The Mango Men When I think back, to when I was a kid, under my bed were those dreams that I hid, Like the day I’d pitch in a World Series game, and wherever I went, they’d all know my name, When I turned 7, my mom must have known, music was something, that made me my own, g# she saved up enough money, for my first guitar, happy birthday to you, my little rock star, Bridge then she got me some lessons and I followed her rules, practice each day when you get home from school, And many years later, still stuck in my head, I’ll never forget those words that she said…. Chorus Follow your heart, keep chasing your dreams, you never know when you might catch one, don’t try to deny, that burning inside, cause it’s real, It’s never too late to start, you can count on your team, we’ll be there when you hit that big home run, just remember to let that kid into the game, he’s been waiting, just follow your heart. When I turned 18, and went off to school, put those dreams in my pocket, thought I was too cool, drank too much beer, studied once in a while, but I learned that 3 chords can take you for miles, Still don’t know how, I earned that degree, then it hit me so hard, it’s called reality, got a job in the city, where I worked 9 to 5, but I lived for the nights, playing gigs in the dives, Bridge: Then I met her one day in this jersey shore bar, singin’ oh Thunder Road, as we rode in my car, in the blink of an eye there were two little girls, we rocked ‘em to sleep, and told our precious pearls… to, Chorus (with “she’s waiting” instead of he, then on “heart”, go immediately into guitar solo) Guitar Solo Bridge Amost thirty years later, standin’ on this big stage, I waited so long, who’d a thought at my age, we’d be playing for thousands, mom’s in the front row, and they’re playin’ our songs, on the radio, cause I Final Chorus Followed my heart, kept chasing my dreams, Now I know what it feels like to catch one, I didn’t try to deny, that burning inside, cause it’s real, it’s never too late to start, I can count on my team, they were here when I hit that big home run, and I’ll always remember to let that kid play, cause he’s me, Just follow your heart
