Description
he Dutch East India Company ruled the world of commerce in the 17th and 18th centuries. The copper coins are Duits, the world’s early pennies. In the Colonies they were called New York Pennies. In 1793 Americans started minting their own currency for circulation. America allowed both domestic and foreign currency until 1857. The music is Vivaldi's Concerto for Two Violins, a very popular song at the time these coins circulated.
