Album: THE LITTLE WHITE CROSS (Songs of Faith and Peace)
By:
Rob Charles

Duration

3:19

Description

this is a new twist on the traditional Country Drinking Song. It is about a drunk driver who kills a little girl, perhaps his own. it was inspired by the little white crosses on the road side. It was the result of a counseling experience that rob had with a 16 year old student who did not see anything wrong with getting drunk and high with his friends. The song is often referred to as "The Last Call Anthem."

Lyrics

Driving down the interstate he saw that old white cross, weather worn, flowers adorned, it commemorates someone's grave loss Will they ever know the terrible pain of innocence's unrevived, by a drunk lost soul who thought that He could Drive. And will they ever love the Lords returnin' when they fail to heed the warnin' of the little white cros on the side of the road? Well Daddy she asked does it hold a special meaning, There's tears in your eyes and why do you look away? Is it just to hard to tell the tragic mystery revealed, by the little white cross on the side of the road? Now with a trembling voice he spoke of that deadly day. when the line was crossed and the drunk stole his daughter away. Though she was just a little girl he'll never forget that day. 'cause the little white cross still marks the fatal place today. And will they ever love the Lords appearin' when they fail to head the warnin' of the little white cross on the side of the road, of the little whit cross on the side of the road.
