Description

It took some time to get this recorded. I wrote this one after the loss of my grandmother and best friend last year. I know I was constantly in her prayers. After serving two tours in Iraq, I was blessed in returning home again and spending time with her before she headed "home". Those who have had a close relationship with their grandmother, I'm sure will relate to the feeling and lyrics. God bless you, Grandma.

Lyrics

GRANDMA’SONG © Wulf- 2009 1 Thoughts of you still go on houndin me- and I see your face in so many dreams... Won’t someone tell me why it has to end? 2 The sparkle in your eyes had gone - as I sang there at your bedside We both knew that soon you’d be moving on 3 I told you it would be all right- like you told me a thousand times... Growin up with you there, Grandma, - was the greatest gift of all 4 I fought so hard to stay strong- But knowing you were leavin soon... Really shook me to the core of all I am Chorus;: And I don’t wanna make this song – a sad one God knows that in the long run it’ll be okay Sometimes a heart will break - but it won’t bend, …It just won’t bend... And I’m really missin you, my best friend 5 I don’t know if they could see in me- How the loss of you was agony Left me runnin, screamin on the beach - that night when mama called 6 When grandpa left, He took your heart - Even then you never fell apart And you knew that you’d be with him up in heaven soon enough 7 I’m glad to know you made it home – no longer pained by anything Say hello to the rest of those we love 8 And “ol Buddy” ought to be there soon, Me and mama saw him off tonight Was a faithful dog, right up to the end 9 I’m grateful for all you are – everything you had the will to be Even times when I found trouble- how you still had love for me 10 But sometimes I really need your hug – I need to know your ’re there, Grandma And I couldn’t miss you more than I do Outro: No, I don’t wanna make this song a sad one And I know that in the long run – it’ll be okay Sometimes a heart will break – but it won’t bend- it just won’t bend Jesus knows I’m missin you, my best friend Music and lyrics by HungryWulf Productions ©.
