Description
When it's time to say goodbye, sometimes it's easier to sing it. This farewell song features old-timey piano, a traditional upright bass, a lilting clarinet solo, and two-part harmonies.
Lyrics
I hear the road a-calling once again. I hear the whistle of the train. I hear my friends saying, "Farewell, dear friend, Hoping to see you once again." I hear the river running past my door. I see the boat is leaving soon. Don't know if I will see you anymore And so I sing this goodbye tune. Leave a candle in the window, dear. Keep the homefires burning bright. When my travels bring me back to here, We can sing and dance all night. I hear the road a-calling once again. I hear the whistle of the train. I hear my friends saying, "Farewell, dear friend, Hoping to see you once again." Hoping to see you once again.
