River

This is a song about a man's experience in 1907 after a tragedy had befallen his entire family. Desperate for comfort he went to the Mighty Mississippi River to end his life. After jumping from a bridge leaving Vicksburg he found himself several days later in the care of former slave family who befriended him and taught him a new way of thinking. The rest is history and a song.
