Description

This is a song about getting lost on a solo-roadtrip up to Northern California. I had a terrible & emotionally draining summer, and I needed to get away. Getting lost was very therapeutic for me.

Lyrics

Green green grasses and country skies are all that seem to catch my eye on this lonely drive Cruising down interstate 99 forgetting where I lost track of time but it eased my mind A million miles away from where I call home I can finally see my little thoughts unfold & float away & I think I can safely say that losing my way made my day I left my heart out on the rolling fields in the August breeze & the cherry trees on my way to Westwood, California on a Saturday I know you wish that I would disappear, well that's exactly what brought me here 'cause so did I I never wanna see another city light, up here you can see stars at night, I can breathe again I ran away with plans of coming home but I fell in love with this country road, oh I'll drift away & I think I can safely say that losing my way made my day I left my heart out on the rolling fields in the August breeze & the cherry trees on my way to Westwood, California on a Saturday Walking streets with kids I met, bare feet against warm cement The thought of going home just makes me sick & I Keep filling up the space you left with things that fill my brokenness Until I found myself down on interstate 99 & decided to change my mind
