Description
This is my "truck song." It's always seemed to me that songs about truck drivers are always sad. Someone's always cheating, or killing, or cheating THEN killing. Anyway, I always believed that truck drivers are the backbone of the blue collar world and most of them are just trying to get home to someone they love. And find her waiting for him... still in love! So, here's to all you guys on that ribbon of highway that bands us all together!
Lyrics
Another lonely night, in a hotel room. Another neon light, and the Harvest moon. The morning beckons me I wake to early light. And I fold my hands, and I Hold on. Fall down on my knees, and I hold on. Tomorrow keeps me sharp, always between the lines. I feel you look my way, at least a hundred times. I feel these 18 wheels, they seem to drag me down. But they can't slow me down, when I hold on. They go from town to town, when I hold on. Tonight I'll find no rest, and burn the midnight road. Another thousand miles and Tennessee to go. I hear that motor hum, I'll sail this ship of steel and I'll hold on. Keep them on the wheel and I'll hold on. Now I'm almost home, and I'm almost done. I drop this hitch out back and I walk into the sun. I find you still in bed, lost inside our dream. I touch your loving head, and I'll hold on. I kiss your mouth instead, and I'll hold on. Hold On...
