The hook for I Believe was written for my girlfriend, and the idea for the verses came from looking at a poster of John Lennon that was hanging in my studio. The thought occured to me to be positive about things that I believed in as opposed to the negative things that lennon didn't believe in on his song GOD/The Dream Is Over.
