Description
This is a story about a father & son and the lessons we must all learn about growning up: right from wrong and the most important lesson that a parent can give to their kids two things: roots & wings. (NOTE: vocals & guitar by Fath Montaperto, & co-written with William Fields)
Lyrics
my father told me a story, when I was just a boy. sometimes life can be so hard. Well Daddy got layed off, didn't have a job. so late one night, I snuck in the neighbors yard. Saw in the window sill, old Mgreggors watch, that's when I decided, I had enough. Well, Daddy followed my trax, before my sin was done, before my innocense was gone. Said listen close to me boy, I got a lot of years on you, nobody gets to heaven, breaking all the rules. CHORUS: ********************** My Daddy said, "The harder the breeze, the stronger the trees, only if your roots go deep. Boy, I love you son, but your will is your own, the best I can do, is a family tree." ************************************* Well years have come and gone, I've had my share of storms, and now I have a branch of my own. Well, times are just as hard, even with a steady job, 24 hours at minimum wage. But when I hear that howl, standing under my Daddy's tree, I remember his love and legacy. Repeat Chorus/OUT
