Description
This songis basically about how as time passes, things grow and shrink simultaneously. I grow and new opportunities open, meanwhile time seems to slip by, older relatives begin to fade, and the times I used to want to fly by, I now wish I had back.
Lyrics
Time has flown by oh so fast, Good times, bad times, neither last, The scars are gone from the old cuts, Oh in the words of Bruce I guess I'm "Growin' Up." I'm finally big now, I am glad, So it's hard to think I could be so sad, But it seems to me that as I grow, Everything else shrinks, oh, don't you know. I'm taller and stronger and now I can drive, But the bees are ready to leave the hive, Time used to drag, but now it flies, I can see the light fadin' from your eyes. I move forward but you move back, And I think more of what my life might lack, A few years down the line when I'm not too sure what light may shine. I'm not so young no more, don't you see, I've matured enormously, Time's runnin' out to do fun stuff, After dwellin' on dilation when times got rough. You sit and wish for time to pass, Then you wonder how so little's left, You wanted time to go quickly, but now you regret the speed at which your life has passed.
