From The Forgotten

I met a sweet young lady, around twenty, who was related to me, but I had not seen in many years. She began to tell me about her mother, who apparently was mentally ill, and how badly she had been treated as a child. One line stuck in my mind after that conversation, "I kept waiting for someone to save me, but they never came." That someone was her dad, who didn't think she needed him. How wrong can you be?
