Description

I wrote these lyrics on a scrap of paper at my then girlfriends apartment in Hoboken NJ. I just tried to think of the furthest place from where we were and that's where I wanted to take her. Start fresh, just the two of us.

Lyrics

she sees the poetry in a broken nose multi color car wash foam people how they really are and constellations in the stars one day i'm gonna just pick her up and go take her to portland for all i know there's a place on the map where the trees need our names i'm gonna pack a few things and go find it one day she sees all the sadness we can feel and love in every detail she knows why we roll the window down and sees darkness in the brightest town one day i'm gonna just pick her up and go cross the border to mexico there's a place in the sun where the sand needs our names i'm gonna pack a few things and go find it one day she sees nightmares walking down the street reality in daydreams the old soul in a young man and beauty on a death bed one day i'm gonna just pick her up and go we might wind up in heaven for all i know there's a place in the ground where the stone reads our names i'm gonna pack a few things and go find it one day pack a few things and go find it one day
