Description
This a song I wrote as I watch some of the video of young service widows and widowers with their children and what their lives would be like losing someone early in life, and the difficulties of trying to adjust to that terrible loss.
Lyrics
Turn the light on Though I know you won’t be here I set a table Even though it’s very clear You won’t be home tonight, But in my heart I hold you in my arms That’s how I make you stay I tend the flowers just to start my day Filling spaces where I know I just can’t stay I hurry on my way to find Another thing to do that reminds me of our time I keep on movin’, in hopes it leads the way To find some answers ’bout livin’ day to day In my mind they’ll come a time When my heart agrees to leave the past behind So when it’s over and I think of all we’ve done I’ll set a table with memories and then I’ll go to bed each night but in my heart I’ll hold you in my arms that’s how I end each day I go to bed each night but in my heart I hold you in my arms that’s how I make you stay.
