Description
Shortly after our high school graduation a friend of mine lost her boyfriend to Leukemia. I always knew that death would be a tragic experience for anyone to deal with but this really made me think of what I would do if I didn’t have much time to live. I couldn’t bare the thought of leaving my family behind without saying a last few words. So, I figured I would write a few letters to my family in hopes to comfort them when I pass away. In memory of Casey Duckworth
Lyrics
He was a young man of only 24 Didn’t feel to well made an appointment on the 4th Doctor said you might not make it through Here's a pad and here's a pen you know what to do… Dear mom and dad If this catches up with you If you’re reading this I didn’t make it through Your baby boy I know's a lot to loose I love you… Then he thought what about my brother john And who’s going to fish with him in that gorgeous Georgia sun I guess Tony will have to be his best man Hey doc could you hold my brothers wedding band Dear John I know your weddings on the 9th If you’re reading this I won’t be by your side I love you and your pretty little wife I guess goodbye… He grabbed the letters And gathered them in his hands Hey doc could you give these To my brother and my dad And when they ask you why didn’t he just call… Tell them I was writing them this song Dear lord If this catches up with you If you’re reading this Im coming home soon I know this prayer is overdue Hey doc this one too…
