Description

When I reconnected with my father at 11, after years of no contact, I had my hopes up in a way only a child can. He messed up again and that was the first time I experienced real heartbreak. It ignited my everlasting trust issues. My mother, trying to explain to a child how the heart works, said the exact same words she’s now saying in English, in the intro of this song.

Lyrics

(My son, if you drop a glass of water on the floor, it will break in pieces and the water will pour out of it. You can repair the glass, piece by piece, but it will always continue to hold water with difficulty. The heart is much similar. Once broken, it will never beat the same...) I see the signs, but what do they mean? The fields are brown. They used to be green. Am I the face of disappointment? I know it looks as if I'm living a dream, but I'm at the bottom of what could have been. I'm loosing everything. So now my heart is set on fire. Should I let it out or let it burn? My mind is set on fighting. Bring your army, I'll be standing. I'm ready for war, I'm ready to fight. I'm ready for death, I'm ready for life. You can throw whatever my way, but tomorrow is my day. I hear'em talk, but that's all they do. Words make hope, but actions speak truth. Am I the only one who follows? So now my heart is set on fire. Should I let it out or let it burn? My mind is set on fighting. Bring your army, I'll be standing. I'm ready for war, I'm ready to fight. I'm ready for death, I'm ready for life. You can throw whatever my way, but tomorrow is my day. So you're up crying all through the night, believe me, I've been there a million times. What's worst is what no one ever knows. Dry your tears friend, you can do it on your own. All this bullshit will soon be gone. It's all we need to know. I'm ready for war, I'm ready to fight. I'm ready for death, I'm ready for life. You can throw whatever my way, but tomorrow is my day.
